| Welcome back to Santa Barbara Hillel! In May 2001 we completed an 8 year process with the opening of the beautiful 10,000 square foot Milton Roisman Jewish Student Center. In the last two and a half years we have seen an explosion of Jewish student activity on campus. Our Friday night Shabbat services and dinner now average over 150 students per week (some weeks there are over 200 students)! We have 75-100 students here every Monday night for our social Kosher Cook Out. Throughout the week students are here studying, going to meetings (like American Students for Israel), rehearsing for the Vocal Ensemble, Israeli Dancing, learning Sign Language, studying Talmud or just hanging out. And that's just in an average week! The students put on programs that range from large social gatherings like bringing in comedians or musicians, to religious programs like Shabbat, to political events, to educational programs and everything in between. If you haven't been back here recently, we welcome you to come take a look. It is truly amazing. And even if you're a recent graduate, come see how we continue to grow and change. As alumni, your hard work and dedication laid the foundation for the current flourishing of Jewish student life in Santa Barbara. Come on back and see what you have been a part of producing!
